I like to keep my reviews nice and short, and I have 1 sentence that describes the food at VN Street Food. It’s damn good! I tried other dishes here and they are good, but the real star here is the rice vermicelli Bun Cha, as it is f**king GREAT! It's definitely one of the best things I've had around Sydney, and it's an easy recommendation to all family and friends!
It’s located down the main street right next to Marrickville station and is only a 4-minute walk from the station. Nice and convenient location for students without access to cars!
It’s really easy to spot as there will always be a huge crowd of people waiting in line on the street.
The menu offers many options for you to try, but as I stated above I would highly highly recommend Bun Cha (number 30 on the menu) for anyone seeking to satisfy their curiosity.
Food: No amount of text is going to accurately describe the flavours of the crispy, smoky, char-grilled pork in sweet and sour soy sauce. And the juicy pork balls, my god it’s to die for. One thing to note is that I found the portion of vermicelli noodle a bit lacking, and extra can be ordered for $2. If you are an avid eater, I would highly recommend ordering extra meat as seen on the menu. (Find the menu in the image gallery below)
Atmosphere: A small local shop where the majority of the seating is arranged just outside the shop on the streets. Very friendly environment, locals and staff. Relaxing place to grab lunch or even dinner.
Hospitality: It’s definitely hectic to manage a constant stream of people and the guys at VN Street Food do it quite well. You might have to put in an effort sometimes to grab a staffs attention but it’s to be expected with the number of people in the restaurant.
I won’t rant any longer, and I’ll leave this post with one message. You have to try this. I went in with scepticism despite the fervent recommendations by friends and came back out as a believer.

Thanks! This was actually pretty good! Didn't realise that Marrickville had a rich food scene.
