Ain’t gonna lie the outside isn’t all too impressive.
But once you step through that door, you will be transported into a world of authentic decor and rustic design that fully represents the vive of an American tavern.
Now let’s talk about the food. After all, that’s what counts the most right?
Food: One of the few places in Sydney other than Blackbear, Smokin Arabs, Vic’s meat market etc. that serve a good ol’ fashioned American BBQ. And do they do that with a BANG! I would highly recommend the BBQ Platter ($50) which includes all the different cuts and choice of meats that Surly’s American Tavern offers. What’s even better is that you can upgrade the boring and old regular chips to an AUTHENTIC POUTINE!! (Costs a few additional dollars)
Atmosphere: As you step into the restaurant it exudes a vibrant and rustic vibe that matches well with the theme of the Restaurant. The decor is amazing and provides an excellent atmosphere to relax and enjoy some damn good food.
Also, who can forget the arcade games that are located on the second floor of the restaurant? Provides an excellent distraction for the kids and for mates to banter and have a blast.
Hospitality: It really wasn’t all too busy as I went outside of peak rush hours (Lunch/Dinner). Regardless, the service was excellent. The waitress was attentive from the moment I stepped through the door and was extremely friendly and enthusiastic. Also provided an excellent recommendation of an off-menu item: Espresso Martini :)!
